  • Buy manila folders to hold applications for each teacher
  • Print out 50 applications to pass out to each Communications teacher
  • Print 10+ proposals to take to businesses
  • Decide which businesses will be sponsoring our scholarship
  • Read assigned chapters and make outlines for chapters read

Team meeting 3/19/09

What we did...
We updated our Sponsorship Proposal, and made it legit!
Here it is:

To whom it may concern,

We are a team of seven students in a Communications class at Cabrillo College. We have been given the opportunity to create a scholarship for a fellow Communications student in need. Our goal is to raise at least $600 to help a student that has financial trouble with school. The money will go towards their books, tuition, school supplies, and other various school expenses.

We are hoping to get donations from businesses all over Santa Cruz County including restaurants, grocery stores, and other prominent businesses.

If you decide to make a contribution, your company name will be mentioned when this scholarship is presented at the Cabrillo College Communications Awards Ceremony. The award ceremony will be held on May 6, 2009 at the Cabrillo College Theater from 6-7:30 p.m.
Please make all checks payable to the Cabrillo College Foundation, Communications Studies.

Se7en Wonderz Scholarship

As students, we understand that times are rough right now. In the past three months 22 million people have lost their jobs. That is why we want to HELP! As Communication 2 students, we have been given an opportunity to help people just like us. So this is your easy opportunity to take advantage! We already have $120 raised and we plan on raising over $600 just for you! Please read the requirements below and get to work! Our goal was to try not make this to time consuming, but believe us it will be rewarding!

Scholarship Applicant Requirements:We have created the following requirements for the scholarship applicants to be considered to be rewarded with the scholarship:

1. 3.0 GPA or higher
2. Must be currently enrolled in a Communications course at Cabrillo College
3. Provide Transcripts from Cabrillo
4. Two letters of recommendation
One academic
One personal
5. Prove personal low-income status regardless of guardian income6. Two one page student statements

Why do you deserve this scholarship more than other applicants?

Today we completed the first draft of our mission statement. We decided to take over the "Crossing Boarders" scholorship and edited the scholarship applicant requirements.


Mission Statement: (Rough Draft) Our mission as the Se7en Wonderz in communications 2 is to work cohiesively as a team to become better leaders and team members.

Our goal in doing this is to successfully raise money and awareness for our scholarship inspired by Crossing Borders.
